In-home Evaluation
The in-home Assessment allows us to observe your canine’s actions in the comfort of its own territory. It also allows us to see the dynamics and interactions between all members of your pack (kids, other dogs, adults, cats, or even dogs in the neighbor’s yard) since everyone and everything can have influence over how your dog interacts with its environment. After spending time with you and finding out what challenges your facing and behavior you wanting to see improved, we will communicate with your dog to help address some of the more important issues right then.
In home assessments are scheduled to your convenience, last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, allow us to address/correct some issues asap, and give us the information necessary to recommend the program that fits you and your Canine. After that, you choose what works best for you by signing up for the program of your choosing.
DNA Fundamental Program on leash
This program is the first step in getting your Canine to trust and respect your leadership. It teaches effective communication and creates the foundation for how we expect our dogs to behave. This is the beginning of teaching your Canine social etiquette.
We use the leash as a communication tool because without it, we have absolutely no impact over our dog’s behavior. Included in the Basic Program, we’ll teach you how to have your Canine properly heel, instinctively sit, come, drop or leave it, bed or cage, hold a spot/mark, enter and exit thresholds, and handle outside disturbances. We teach you how to master your leash handling, enhance the bond with your dog, how to praise your dog, and how to solve unacceptable/unpleasant actions.
Your Canine might perform basic commands or tricks, but that doesn’t mean your Canine has learned obedience, has trust, or respect for you or anyone else in the household. Our Basic Program creates a bond between you and your Canine that can withstand any environment or outside disturbance.
DNA Fundamental Program on/off leash
The on-leash program is included in this program and goes further to continue your trust and respect with your Canine while off leash. This doesn’t mean we’re promoting your Canine being in public while not on a leash, but rather allows you to remain stress free during any time your Canine doesn’t have a leash attached. The off-leash program use verbal and nonverbal commands to continue the basic commands while off leash and allows more freedom for your Canine.
DNA Boarding and Training Program
The Boarding and Training program consists of your Canine being boarded and trained by a DNA trainer. This can provide an accelerated foundation for your Canine and will jump start the socialization process since your Canine will be exposed to different environments.
This program can be requested or recommended and the pricing and timing will be dependent on the specifics of each situation.
DNA Behavioral Management Program
While completing the Evaluation, we’ll look at the emotional state of your Canine. Your Canine needs to trust you and your goal is to build your Canines confidence and independence within the boundaries of your pack. Some signs that your Canine might require the Behavioral Management Program is aggressiveness, chewing/digging, shaking/fear, signs of anxiety, or guarding food/objects. Now that your Canine is accepting you’re leading the pack, they’ll need help trusting their position in the pack so they can live a comfortable and happy life.
Puppy Fundamentals
We begin training puppies as old as 8 weeks and by around 12 weeks of age a puppy can be a well rounded part of your pack after learning structure and boundaries. The puppy fundamental program is a modification of the fundamental on leash program since we’re initiating proper leash handling, crate training, socialization, potty training, boundaries, commands, and name identification.
One of the struggles most people face when training a puppy is that we tend to show too much positive reinforcement in conjunction with negative behaviors and we’re prone to elevating the puppy, which leads them to have no respect or trust for their human. Our goal is to help you enjoy your new puppy by showing positive reinforcement for good behaviors and gaining the trust and respect for you as their human.
